As Artificial Intelligence (AI) makes huge strides in a rather disruptive manner across various industries, a captivating discussion emerges as to whether AI can significantly disrupt the intricate world of music. Delving into the heart of the matter, we explore its potential impact on both the creative and technical facets of the music industry.

Within a music industry, we delineate two major segments: the ‘Creative’ and the ‘Technical.’ Creative segment includes aspects such as composing, singing and lyrics, while the Technical segment deals with mixing, mastering, vocal pitching, time alignment and other technical intricacies. Besides these two segments which are closely and directly associated with an overall music production, there are plenty of auxiliary segments, which can be aptly termed as ‘Aiders’.

Technical transformation

AI can definitely make huge inroads in the technical transformation of the song. Sound engineers make creative decisions in the outcome of a song’s soundscape, yet AI can proficiently handle technical aspects like understanding frequencies, audio clean-ups, time alignment of vocal recordings, and applying track analysis-based compression.
